Jhana, Emptiness, Buddha-Nature
February 13-22
Online
NOTE: The retreat is now full, but you can still apply to be placed on the wait-list in case of cancellations.
Join me online for an immersion cultivating continuous samadhi and exploring the themes of emptiness and Buddha-nature.
The content of this retreat is pitched at intermediate and advanced practitioners, though beginners are also welcome to apply and attend. I’ll be reviewing foundational jhana practice as I learned from Leigh Brasington, though the bulk of the group instruction will be focused on insight into the themes of emptiness and recognition of our Buddha-nature. I suggest you read and review Leigh’s excellent manual, Right Concentration, before attending. If you’re less familiar with jhana and would like to focus on developing fluency for the duration of the retreat, that’s also welcome. The talks will be recorded and may be more useful for you later on.
Depending on how many people register, 1:1 practice interviews will be daily or every other day.
Though I recommend setting aside all activities besides practice for the duration of the retreat if possible, if you’re able to practice at least 4 hours a day or more while working or attending to other necessary responsibilities I want to facilitate your commitment to practice and participation. As this is an online event, of necessity everyone is individually responsible for maintaining the continuity of their practice and attending as many of the group sessions and interviews as able and desired. The Zoom room will remain open for those who would like to meditate together virtually outside of the scheduled sessions.
